Smoking kills people. This we know. But it takes time; death-by-smoking is a long, drawn out and slow death experience. Think about it… does smoking one cigarette kill someone?
How about smoking a whole pack?
But what about a pack a day for a year?
How about a pack a day for five years? Ten years? Twenty years? Forty years?
Smoking a pack a day for 10, 20, or 40 years will definitely catch up to you and kill you in the end.
Subluxation (AKA: Vertebral Subluxation) gets you the same way.
Subluxation interferes with your body’s nerve system and the transmission of mental impulses through the body. Interfere with the transmission long enough and they will catch up to you and cause death.
That fall off the swing when you were 5… It caused a subluxation but it was not a big deal at the time.
Then the fall off the bike at 7…. subluxation.
Your parents divorce at 10…. another subluxation.
The cigarette at 15…. again, a subluxation.
The football hit you took as a Junior in High School… Subluxation.
Your 21st birthday…. subluxation.
The glass of wine with dinner every night since you were married at 25…. subluxation.
Giving birth to your children at 27… subluxation.
The trip and fall while walking the kids in the park at 29… subluxation.
The argument you had with your spouse when you were 30… subluxation.
The death of your grandparents/parents at 40… subluxation.

When folks think about chiropractic, invariably their first thought relates to either low back pain, headaches, or neck pain. When folks think about KIDS and chiropractic, their first thought is usually, "Waitwhatnow? Why would a kid need to see a chiropractor?"
Let me tell you about Korban.
I first met Korban and his mother in the Spring of 2011 at a community event. Korban was 5 months old, and had been experiencing grand-mal seizures since birth to the tune of 5-7 per week. Korban's mother showed me a video she had filmed of one of his seizures, and it was absolutely heart-wrenching. Seizures are rough anyway, but watching a 5 month old kid suffer through one is something I don't want to see again. I told her to bring him in to the office so we could check Korban's spine; maybe there was something amiss, a vertebral subluxation that was contributing to his seizures. She agreed to bring him in the following week.
After explaining my methods to Korban's mom and dad, I analyzed his spine and found vertebral subluxation in his upper neck, specifically his first neck bone called atlas. Atlas is an important bone. In fact, it's so important that there are some chiropractors that dedicate their entire practice to assessing and adjusting atlas ONLY! After finding this subluxation, I delivered a specific, gentle adjustment and told them to bring him back in Friday so we could check him again. Now, I should mention that chiropractors don't adjust small children the same way they would adjust an adult. The techniques used to adjust wee little ones are much different than the methods used to adjust an adult.
Korban's mom brought him back in that Friday and said he experienced one seizure the day following his adjustment. I checked Korban's atlas again and found it was once again subluxated, so I provided another adjustment with instructions to bring him to be checked again the following Monday. Over the weekend, something amazing happened. Korban was seizure free for the entire weekend.
Korban is now almost 2 years old and hasn't had a single seizure since his second adjustment. We continued to check his spine and provide adjustments when needed, as well as his mother's and father's once a week until they moved to a different town.
Did chiropractic cure Korban's seizures? Yes and No.
Chiropractic doesn't 'treat' or 'cure' anything. You see, chiropractic and medicine are vastly different in their approach to health and wellness. Traditional medicine is focused on how a person feels and whether or not that person is experiencing any symptoms. Chiropractic does not focus on a person's symptoms. Instead, Chiropractic's only objective is to remove what interferes with the proper function of the body, namely the vertebral subluxation, whether a person has symptoms or not for no other reason than vertebral subluxation is detrimental to a person's well-being. With this in mind, Chiropractic didn't treat Korban's symptoms, nor did it cure him. What chiropractic did was remove the subluxation that was interfering with Korban's normal function, allowing Korban's body to heal itself and begin functioning correctly.
So why should every child be checked by a chiropractor? Because kids have spines, and their spines get subluxations, too! Childbirth, learning to walk, and the typical tumbles of childhood are all potential causes of vertebral subluxation. Has your child's spine been checked? Add a chiropractor to your health care team and prepare to be amazed at the difference it makes in the quality of life of your family!
